The world is waiting for Martin Scorsese next cinematic outing ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ where he reunites with his favourite muse Leonardo DiCaprio for the 6th time. Fresh off-the boat is another great news for the fans of Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese collaboration! Damn Yes. They are collaborating again as the production works of ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ for Apple is underway. This time the duo is developing another film for Apple Original Films.
Scorsese is attached to direct New Yorker journalist David Grann’s upcoming non-fiction book “The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder” adaptation for Apple. What’s even more interesting is that the duo’s upcoming film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, is also an adaptation of David Grann’s book by the same name.
‘The Wager’ will be published next April and it narrates the story of the British naval ship of the same name during the 1700s. The synopsis of the book follows a trial to uncover the truth of what happened on an island after the crew of the British ship crashed on it. Stranded and forced to survive, the crew descends into anarchy, and several murder accusations and treachery follow the court martial.
‘The Wager’ will officially be the 7th collaboration of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, a first since the 2013’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street.’ Besides DiCaprio, the film flaunts an ensemble cast that includes Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi and Tatanka Means to name a few.
While further details on ‘The Wager’ aren’t revealed yet, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ will release in 2023 with Apple eyeing a festival debut at Cannes or Venice Film Festival. Anyways this news is in literal and figurative terms a double bonanza for the fans and well wishers of both Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio and also fans of their collaboration in specific. Stay tuned for more updates!
