Liger Trailer: Fails to Create an Impact!

The trailer of the highly anticipated Liger: Saala Crossbreed is out. No doubt this is a very ambitious project for not only Dharma Productions but Indian cinema as a whole.

Vijay Deverakonda, Mike Tyson, Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, and Ananya Panday are playing the titular roles in the movie. The film directed by Puri Jagannadh is based on sports and was greatly promoted by Dharma ever since the announcement.

It will be a Pan-India film but we all know the reality of that term. It has an edge in Hindi and Telugu belts only but it will still be released in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Regardless, the Liger theme was released in May itself and now with only a few weeks left we finally have the trailer of the film.

The trailer is really well-cut, we hardly get any idea about the story of the film through the trailer. Ramya Krishna is playing the mother of Vijay Deverakonda and she herself is a very bold woman. Vijay Deverakonda is a super strong street fighter who ultimately finds a way to the ring.

But the trailer as a whole is turn off. There are no scenes of well-choreographed fight sequences, no dialogue that can be remembered, and nothing substantial at all. We realize that Deverakonda’s character has a problem speaking but why didn’t Dharma Productions flaunt an actress as strong as Ramya Krishna through dialogues is a mystery.

The only good thing about the trailer is the fact that it doesn’t reveal anything. But for maintaining the mystery, the trailer must be impactful, which it is not.

Liger: Saala Crossbreed releases on August 25th only in theatres and that will tell the whole worth of the project.
