Disney Plus Hotstar has just revealed the first look at the cast of its new Korean series ‘Light Shop’. The series will premiere later this year, mostly in the second half of 2024, on Disney Plus Hotstar in India, and Disney Plus worldwide.
Upcoming Korean series ‘Light Shop’ comes from Kang Full, the writer of last year’s blockbuster hit Korean series ‘Moving’. Moving had also premieres on Disney Plus & Disney Plus Hotstar, proving to be a major hit for the platform. The series became the most-watched K-Drama on Disney Plus, Hulu, and Disney Plus Hotstar, globally and domestically.
‘Light Shop’ is based on Kang Full’s Korean webtoon of the same name. It is a mystery drama that follows a bunch of unconnected people, each dealing with trauma in their lives. All of them are mysteriously drawn to a “light shop” situated in a nondescript lane. The enigmatic light shop seems to hold the key to their past, present and future.
As per the makers, ‘Light Shop’ will “delve into the depths of human experience and explore the themes of life, death and what truly makes us human”. The series is directed by actor Kim Hee-won, who will make his directorial debut with ‘Light Shop’.
The series stars Bae Seong-woo (Confession Of Murder, Delayed Justice), Ju Ji-hoon (Kingdom, Jirisan), Park Bo-young (Strong Girl Bong-soon, Daily Dose Of Sunshine), and Lee Jung-eun (Parasite), Uhm Tae-Goo (Concrete Utopia), Seolhyun (Awaken), Kim Min-Ha (Pachinko), Shin Eun-Soo (School Of Magic), Kim Dae-Myung (Terror Live, Hospital Playlist), Kim Sun-Hwa (The Glory, Revenge Of Others), and Kim Ki-Hae (The Witch: Part 2 – The Other One), among others.
