Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan has revealed on Instagram that he has dropped out of his college (University of Westminster) with over 120 credits as he wants to focus on his acting career. The move makes sense and Babil Khan is not alone when it comes to aspiring actors discontinuing their studies to make a mark in the entertainment industry.

The perfectionist actor is well known for his intelligence and chess prowess. He finished his tenth and twelfth grades at Bombay Scottish School and Narsee Monjee College respectively. Subsequently, he diverted all his energies to pursue a career in films. He is undoubtedly one of the finest actors and the most consistent performers in the Indian film industry and his dedication to the profession is unanimously held in high regard.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The ravishing former Miss World and Bollywood actress Aishwarya was born to an Army biologist. She was herself a bright student who secured 90% marks during her intermediate examinations. She initially wanted to pursue a career in medicine and later planned to become an architect. However, in order to pursue her modeling career, she had to drop out of college. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Akshay Kumar
The inspiring rags to riches story of the Punjab-born lad Rajiv Bhatia aka Akshay Kumar is well known. He did his schooling in Mumbai. Although the superstar joined a college in Mumbai for higher studies, he couldn’t complete the course because of his keen interest in learning Martial Arts for which he went to Bangkok to learn Thai Boxing. After working as a chef, waiter, and model, he eventually became one of the most bankable performers of the Indian film industry.
Deepika Padukone
The Denmark-born Brahmin girl is the daughter of badminton champion Prakash Padukone. Deepika Padukone was herself an ardent badminton enthusiast, who received her schooling and pre-university education in Bangalore. Although she had enrolled for the Bachelor of Arts Course, she couldn’t complete it because of her modeling assignments. And we are glad she did that as she is now regarded as one of Bollywood’s finest discoveries after making her grand acting debut in Farah Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan.
Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput was blessed with a beautiful mind and a golden heart. He achieved the feat of cracking the Indian National Physics Olympiad before securing admission at the highly reputed Delhi College of Engineering. He reportedly secured 7th rank in its entrance exam. Although he was ostensibly interested in becoming an astronaut or an air pilot, besides also harboring Bollywood ambitions.
To fulfill his acting ambitions, he eventually dropped out of the engineering course and instead joined the dance classes and acting classes conducted by Shiamak Davar and Barry John, respectively.
