The makers of Netflix’s acclaimed show, ‘The End Of The F***ing World’ are planning another edgy show for TV. Clerkenwell Films, the creators of The End Of The F***ing World, are all set to make their new series, ‘The Birth Of Daniel F Harris’.
The new show has been commissioned by U.K.’s Channel 4, who had also jointly produced ‘The End Of The F***ing World’ with Netflix. The show had won a BAFTA for Best Drama Series, Best Supporting Actress, and is nominated for an Emmy Award, results of which will be declared in September.
‘The Birth Of Daniel F Harris’ is centred on young Danny, who was a mere baby when his mother is killed. His grief-stricken father keeps baby Daniel locked up inside the house, disallowing any contact with the outside world, in a misplaced attempt to keep him safe. Little Daniel is made to believe that the outside world is full of monsters that will spirit him away like they did his mother.
Things take a change for the strange, when Daniel turns 18, and has to confront a world that is beyond his comprehension. Not only does he reconcile himself with the reality of the imagined monsters, but also comes face to face with a real one – the one who killed his mother.
‘The Birth Of Daniel F Harris’ has been written by Pete Jackson, a relatively new writer. This is his first work for TV. The Birth Of Daniel F Harris will be an eight part series.
The series will be distributed internationally by BBC Studios. Netflix is nowhere in the picture as of now, but we think the streaming giant will hop on board for international distribution once the series is ready for release and the premiere date approaches.
