Lionsgate has unveiled a new trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, serving as a prequel to the original 2012 film starring Jennifer Lawrence.
The new clip offers a closer look at Coriolanus Snow’s (played by Tom Blyth) early days as a mentor for the so-called prestigious Hunger Games event. We also see Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird in the new trailer. Her character forges a strong connection with Blyth’s Snow. Apart from these two, the highly talented duo of Peter Dinklage and Viola Davis is seen portraying Casca “Cas” Highbottom (author of The Hunger Games) and Volumnia Gaul (head game maker of the 10th edition of The Hunger Games), respectively. Other performers, such as Hunter Schafer, Josh Andres Rivera, Jason Schwartzmann, and more also appear in the trailer.
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is director Francis Lawrence’s fourth Hunger Games project. The film takes inspiration from Suzanne Collins’ 2020 novel. James Newton Howard has composed the film’s score.
Lionsgate has served as one of the primary producers for the upcoming Hunger Games entry. With a screenplay penned by Michael Arndt and Michael Lesslie, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes will arrive in theatres worldwide on November 17. Stay tuned for more updates.
