‘Into the Spider-Verse’ sequel ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ has started swinging in Indian theatres from today and like its predecessor, the animated superhero flick has received fantastic reviews so far from critics. Both these films have created a new benchmark for the animated and superhero genres. And it’s perhaps because of their massive fan following that film producer Amy Pascal has revealed that a live-action Miles Morales movie is now in the works.
As of now, no other details about the Miles Morales live-action Spider-Man movie are known. The Miles Morales movie will be in addition to other Spider-Man projects which are currently under development. These include spin-offs such as ‘Madame Web’ starring Dakota Johnson in the lead role and ‘Kraven the Hunter’ starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the titular role. They are set for a theatrical release on 16th February 2024 and 6th October 2023, respectively.
Moreover, the fourth installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movie is also under development but the film’s production has been halted because of the ongoing writers’ strike in the US.
And as far as the next Spider-Verse movie is concerned (after ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ and ‘Across the Spider-Verse’), the third film has been titled ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ and is slated to arrive in theatres next year on 29th March 2024.
Besides the aforementioned live-action Miles Morales Spider-Man movie and ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ animated film, a standalone animated ‘Spider-Woman’ movie is also in the works and will be released sooner than expected. So, there is enough on-screen material coming up for die-hard Spider-Man fans in the next few years at least. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the same.
