Nielsen’s latest top ten overall streaming titles list is out now. And the legal drama series ‘Suits’ has continued its incredible record-breaking spree. The show has bagged the top spot on the coveted list consecutively for the 15th time this week with an impressive 1.28 billion minutes of viewing for the period. We are just wondering when will ‘Suits’ be dethroned by some other title.
Other titles on the latest overall streaming titles list include ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ (1 billion minutes), ‘Haunted Mansion’ (992 million minutes), ‘Reptile’ (838 million minutes), and ‘Love is Blind’ (821 million minutes), amongst others.
Moreover, on Nielsen’s original top ten streaming list, the Marvel superhero series ‘Loki’, whose second season started streaming on Disney+ on 5th October, has made its debut on the Nielsen list. However, as per Nielsen’s viewing stats, ‘Loki’ has not been able to impress with respect to viewing stats compared to its first season premiere.
Because on the latest Nielsen original top ten streaming list, ‘Loki’ has debuted on the No.6 spot and has got 446 million minutes of viewing for the period. For the sake of comparison, when ‘Loki Season-1’ premiered back in 2021, it had attracted 731 million minutes of viewing during its first week. So, there is a significant 39% decrease in views this time. That’s why it’s an unexpected performance this time for ‘Loki’.
‘Loki Season-1’ was also admired more by critics. S1 has got 92% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. On the other hand, ‘Loki Season-2’ has received a slightly lower, albeit still impressive RT critics’ score of 84%. But this still doesn’t explain the massive 39% drop in views. Perhaps the superhero genre, more particularly the Marvel shows, has become a victim of genre fatigue.
Besides the addition of ‘Loki’, ‘The Boys’ spin-off series ‘Gen V’ has once again found a place on the Nielsen original top ten streaming list. But it has moved down to the 10th spot.
Other titles on the Nielsen original top ten streaming list include ‘Ahsoka’ (575 million minutes), ‘Ony Murders In The Building’ (563 million minutes), ‘Beckham’ (519 million minutes), and ‘Lupin’ (436 million minutes), amongst others.
