There is an Indian film festival going on in London and it is interesting. The whole festival is a celebration of Indian entertainment and the selection is really entertaining. We are particularly excited about two titles, namely Berlin and The Pink Shirt. Details of all the titles are below.
Films
1. Berlin – A spy thriller directed by Atul Sabharwal and starring Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh, and Kabir Bedi. It opens the festival.
2. Kennedy – A thriller directed by Anurag Kashyap and featuring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone. It will have its UK premiere at the festival.
3. Gangs of Wasseypur – A gangster epic, including a complete screening as part of the festival’s ‘Death By Any Means’ strand.
4. Eega (The Fly) – An early vengeance drama directed by Oscar winner S. S. Rajamouli.
5. Go Goa Gone – A classic Indian zombie comedy, marking its tenth anniversary and screening on Halloween.
6. Padatik – A film by Bengali director Srijit Mukherji, exploring the life of Mrinal Sen as part of his 100th birthday celebrations.
Web Series
1. The Pink Shirt – A modern relationship drama series streaming on ZEE5, starring Sajal Aly and Wahaj Ali.
These are the films and series highlighted in the article about the London Indian Film Festival’s 2023 edition.
Usually, the Zee5 series is never that big to create a buzz in India as well. If the makers are really marketing the series in such film festivals then “The Pink Shirt” might be worth exploring.
