One of the surprise hits of the year, Tamil language romantic comedy ‘Love Today’ will stream on Netflix India sooner than expected. The film released at the theatres on 4th November to unanimous positive reception. Made on a stringent budget of 5 crores, Love Today grossed over 70 crores and became one of the most successful Tamil outings of the year. Binged had reported on the digital rights of Pradeep Ranganathan starrer earlier. We now learn that the film will stream on Netflix India from December 2nd.
Love Today follows the relationship of Uthaman Pradeep, a 24-year-old software engineer working in Chennai and his colleague Nikitha, whose father Venu Sastri is a judgemental and orthodox person. Pradeep goes to her house to convince Venu for their alliance. Venu toys around with Pradeep for a while and puts forward a strange deal: Pradeep and Nikitha must immediately exchange their mobile devices for one day along with respective mobile’s unlocking key. After the end of the period, if they still feel that they are in love, Venu will not object to their union else they can go their separate ways. The repercussions that follow both Pradeep and Nikitha, makes for a strange and whacky comedy.
Directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, known for Comali, Love Today marks his acting debut in the lead. The film stars Ivana, Radhika and Satyaraj in important roles.Yuvan Shankar Raja scored the film’s music. Dinesh Purushothaman headed department of cinematography and Pradeep E Raghav took charge of Editing. Love Today drops on Netflix India on December 2nd.
