Blue Star – Prime Video, 29th February, Movie, Tamil
Tamil sports drama film ‘Blue Star’ is directed by S. Jayakumar in his directorial debut and produced by Pa. Ranjith. The movie stars Ashok Selvan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Keerthi Pandian in lead roles. The film follows two cricket teams whose future is at stake because of caste differences.
Maamla Legal Hai – Netflix, 1st March, Series, Hindi
Maamla Legal Hai is a courtroom and legal comedy, centred on sundry quirky characters. The cast of the series comprises Ravi Kishann, Yashpal Sharma, Tanvi Azmi, Nidhi Bisht, Vivek Mushran, Anant Vijay Joshi, among others. The series is produced by Posham Pa Pictures, and directed by Rahul Pandey.
Sunflower Season 2 – ZEE5, 1st March, Series, Hindi
Sunflower Season 2 picks up from the end of the first season. With Sunflower Society resident Raj Kapoor’s murder still not solved, Police Inspectors Digendra (Ranvir Shorey) and Tambe (Girish Kulkarni) sniff around some more to pin the murderer. This time, along with prime suspects Ahuja (Mukul Chadda) and Sonu Singh (Sunil Grover), a new suspect comes into the picture in the form of the dead man’s secretary, Rosie (Adah Sharma).
Ambajipeta Marriage Band – Aha Video, 1st March, Movie, Telugu
Social comedy film Ambajipeta Marriage Band is written and directed by debutant Dushyanth Katikaneni. It stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram, Sharanya Pradeep, and Goparaju Ramana in lead roles. The film follows a pair of twins, who find their worlds turned upside down after their 25th birthday. The film centres on social and caste discrimination.
Eagle – ETV Win, 2nd February, Movie, Telugu
Eagle, a professional assassin, is on a mission to bust an international arms trade by disguising himself as a cotton farmer in Talakona. A journalist discovers the truth about his identity, and decides to dig into his past. The film stars Ravi Teja, Anupama Parameswaran, Kavya Thapar, Navdeep, Srinivas Avasarala, Madhoo, Vinay Rai, Ajay Ghosh, Srinivasa Reddy, etc. in key roles.
The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth – Netflix, 29th February (tentative), Series, English-Hindi
Documentary series The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth was to premiere last week on Netflix but was postponed due to legal issues. If all goes well, it might premiere on Netflix this week.
