R Madhavan and Shraddha Srinath starrer Maara is going to skip its theatrical released and stream online on Amazon Prime Video from January 8th. It is the official remake of Malayalam blockbuster, Charlie (2015) starring Dulquer Salman. The movie has been in production since 2016 and has been delayed due to various reasons. The trailer has released recently and many have felt Madhavan does not look apt for the character of Dulquer in the movie.
“The age difference is always there. I am much older than Dulquer. We are very much aware of it. So, we are always conscious that Maara is going to be an adaptation of Charlie and not a remake. We made several changes to the script. It is a musical love story which will make everyone happy,” Madhavan said in an interview. However, the trailer looks like a scene to scene remake, let us see what difference the makers bring in Maara.
Directed by Dhilip Kumar, produced by Prateek Chakravorty and Shruti Nallappa under Pramod films, the Tamil romantic musical drama will be available to stream in over 240 countries and territories. The movie has been extensively shot in the beautiful locations of Kerala and Tamil Nadu This is the second OTT release of Madhavan after the Telugu film, Nishabdham.
