Kiernan Shipka believes that she is “not done” with her Sally Draper character in the highly acclaimed AMC series, Mad Men. The 22-year-old American actress wants to appear in a future spin-off entry based on the character of Don Draper’s daughter. Also, she desires the spin-off’s shoot to take place in Los Angeles instead of New York City.
Shipka debuted in the television world at the age of five months in the NBC’S hospital drama series, ER. Some years later, she commenced doing commercials for television as a baby artist. But her first major breakthrough came in 2007. Thanks to Matthew Weiner’s Mad Men series. And we all know her as Sabrina Spellman, the protagonist of Netflix’s supernatural horror outing, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Apart from her tv projects, she has also been a part of various movies like The Blackcoat’s Daughter, One & Two, The Silence, Let It Snow, and many more.
The character of Sally Draper first emerged in the second episode of Mad Men Season 1. And writers did a fantastic job with Sally throughout the show. She eventually loses interest in the luxurious but hollow lifestyle that her father bestowed.
Shipka recently had a nice conversation with ET and shed some light on her forthcoming series, Swimming with Sharks. During the exchange, she expressed her fondness for Sally Draper.
“I’m not done with Sally,” Shipka said, “I don’t think she’d be in New York. I think she’d do L.A… But I’m not done with her at all.”
Sally Draper turns into a motherly figure at the end of the series. She starts to look after her two younger brothers in addition to becoming a mature person.
Interestingly, the makers of the Mad Men series have never hinted at the show’s possible follow-up or spin-off instalments to date despite its breathtaking global success. But Kiernan Shipka’s recent thoughts may change the flow of that river completely.
