“We get one life. Let’s make history,” said the great one two years ago. Looks like history repeats itself once more! Here is what Chiyaan Vikram has for his fans: an update hinting at a sequel for the Tamil movie ‘Mahaan.’
Recently, actor Vikram posted a tweet on X with just one line (precisely speaking, a word): ‘Mahaan 2!!?’ with a winking emoji. But wait, that’s not all! Along with this tweet, he also posted two pictures, posing a carefree look, holding a cigar, and sporting sunglasses in one picture. (Yes, I am quite a beholder!)
2 years ago, ‘Mahaan,’ an action thriller film featuring father-son duo (Vikram and Dhruv Vikram) was released on Amazon Prime Video on February 9, 2022. And 2 days ago, the film celebrated its second anniversary of release. Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar under Seven Screen Studio, the film received positive responses from both critics and audiences alike.
‘Mahaan’ was applauded for the smooth narrative, nail-biting action scenes, and stellar performances, not only by Vikram and Dhruv Vikram, but by Simran and Bobby Simha in significant roles. The film depicted a tale of Dadabhai Naoroiji, an extremist Gandhian, seeking revenge on his father, a drunkard, for abandoning his family… and Gandhian principles.
The only disappointment fans had: ‘Mahaan’ did not have a theatrical release, rather, it took a direct OTT route due to pandemic-related delays. And some set of fans regretted that ‘Mahaan,’ so far, is not available in its Hindi dubbed version.
Currently, ‘Mahaan’ is available in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. Fans are looking forward to more details about Mahaan 2, and that too, with a theatrical release! Here’s the tweet from Vikram about Mahaan 2:
