Mahaan will debut on Prime Video on 10th February and Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan is coming on 11th. The two films are releasing on a day’s difference simply to avoid any clash but speculations around the same are in talks.
So the bigger question is which movie will bring more audience?
Mahaan is a Tamil thriller starring Vikram and his son Dhruv Vikram in the lead role. On the other hand, Gehraiyaan stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Pandey and Dhairya Karwa in the lead role.
The trailer of Mahaan was released just a few days back and fans were insanely excited about the same. But, the same can’t be said about Gehraiyaan. Although it stars Deepika Padukone, the poor and lethargic marketing strategy of the film failed to excite the audience.
Gehraiyaan is based on relevant, flawed and complex characters just like the previous film of Shakun Batra. On the other hand, Mahaan is based on a heroic action-driven plot with a few social issues involved.
The recent success of Pushpa: The Rise is a clear indication that even Hindi speaking audiences are getting more and more interested in South Indian films.
So as of now, we can say that Mahaan has an edge over Gehraiyaan but the actual worth of both the films will be clear only after their release.
