Maharaja is easily one of the most hyped films of the year and rightly so. It takes an excellent route to narrate a non-linear story that has a fantastic ending. More than a thrill and twist, people are moved by the emotional shock that drops like a lightning bolt on the audience.
But, enough of appreciation. What is the real update? Such rage about Maharaja has been consistent for several weeks now.
Maharaja is now the third most-watched movie on Netflix India in 2024 so far. Mind you, we are talking about Netflix “India”. Thus, we are including only Indian films.
Maharaja is just behind Crew and Laapata Ladies and may surpass them in the upcoming one or two weeks given the fact that the film’s craze is nowhere near dying down.
Maharaja stars Vijay Sethupathi and Anurag Kashyap in lead roles with the latter playing the antagonist. There are only a very few films that manage to create a rage on both big screens and OTT. Maharaja fortunately manages to fall into that category. It was greatly loved by the audiences and even on OTT it is a force to be reckoned with. Anyways, Maharaja is a fantastic success on Netflix India and the makers must be proud of what they have created.
