‘Mai’ On Netflix: An Unnerving Tale Of A Mother’s Revenge

Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming thriller series ‘Mai’ starring Sakshi Tanwar in the lead and its one enthralling revenge tale. Created by Atul Mongia, ‘Mai’ is all set to launch on Netflix on 15th April, 2022.

The trailer of ‘Mai’ starts off with Sheel, 47-year-old docile wife-and-mother, asking her daughter Supriya what’s wrong and assuring her that she would make it all right. But just then, infront of her eyes, her daughter gets hit by a truck and dies.

While the police investigation and reports indicate an accidental death, Sheel knows there was something fishy about her daughters death. Her own family thinks Supriya death was due to some problems she was going through in her love life.

But it’s only Sheel who thinks there’s something much more and she needs to find the whole truth along with the one who killed her sweetie. She seeks help from both police and law but in vain. That’s when she begins her own investigation and the cracks gradually start to open up.

Little did Sheel know how deep, ugly and complicated it all is. Driven by grief and rage to avenge her daughter’s death she now became a woman who did unimaginable things. With no care of what happens to her, she sets on a path with no thoughts of turning back howsoever dangerous it gets.

‘Mai’ follows the story of Sheel, who after a deep personal tragedy accidentally gets sucked into a rabbit hole of violence and power. Ensuing entanglement with white collar crime and politics that forever changed her and the world she inhabits.

Alongside Sakshi Tanwar, ‘Mai’ on Netflix stars Raima Sen, Seema Pahwa, Wamiqa Gabbi, Vivek Mushran, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Anant Vidhaat and Ankur Ratan among others.

Atul Mongia has written ‘Mai’ along with Tamal Sen and Amita Vyas. Mongia also serves as director for the series with Anshai Lal. Sudip Sharma is the creative producer for the series and has Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma serve as executive producers via their Clean Slate Filmz.

‘Mai’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 15th April, 2022.
