Renowned director of movies depicting the complex nature of human emotions through sensuous visuals like ‘Call Me by Your Name’ and ‘Suspiria’, Luca Guadagnino has teamed up with Hollywood veteran Julia Roberts for his next thriller project: After The Hunt.
While further updates about the cast and release date will be disclosed later, official updates state that the movie follows a college professor who faces a dilemma when a star pupil accuses one of her colleagues. The plotline navigates the journey of Roberts, the protagonist as she tries to keep secrets from her past hidden from the limelight, all while drama ensues.
The big names associated with the movie have numerous feathers on their caps. Director Guadagnino, an Oscar-nominated filmmaker has highly anticipated titles like ‘Challengers’ and ‘Separate Rooms’ coming up. Roberts, on the other hand, has ruled the box office with hits like ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘Erin Brockovich’, and was last seen headlining Netflix’s post-apocalyptic thriller ‘Leave the World Behind’.
Numerous comparisons have been drawn between the scripts for ‘After The Hunt’ and ‘Tár’, the 2022 psychological thriller drama directed by Todd Field. Only difference cited so far is the setting of both the movies. While the latter is based in a world of music, the former will be based in a world of academia.
