Fans of gritty Malayalam crime and action dramas now have another film in the genre to add to their watchlist this weekend. We’re talking of the well-received Malayalam movie ‘Antony’, which has begun streaming on Prime Video India since this morning.
Apart from its genre, ‘Antony’ is also a must-watch coz it stars the compelling Malayalam actor, Joju George. You will agree with us when we say that any movie with Joju George in it automatically becomes a good watch, even if it features a predictable plot or average filmmaking.
Malayalam film ‘Antony’ released in theatres across India on 1st December, 2023. The movie received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. It also did decent business at the box office. Now that it’s more than six weeks since the release of Antony in theatres, the film is finally streaming on OTT, on Prime Video India.
Antony follows ruthless gangster Antony Anthrapper, who accidentally kills a local goon named Xavier. Guilt compels him to become the guardian of Xavier’s daughter, Ann Maria, who is an aggressive college student trained in MMA. Ann Maria’s presence in his life leads Antony to reform his violent ways – until the past comes calling in the form of a forgotten foe named Tarzan.
Joju George plays Antony Anthrapper, while Kalyani Priyadarshan stars as Ann Maria in ‘Antony’. Chemban Vinod Jose, Nyla Usha, Asha Sharath, Appani Sarath and Vijayaraghavan, among others, form the rest of the cast. Antony is directed by Joshiy and written by Rajesh Varma.
