Buzzy Malayalam film ‘Purusha Pretham’ is gearing up to skip theatres and go in for a direct digital release. SonyLIV has grabbed the premiere rights for ‘Purusha Pretham’. SonyLIV has also announced a release date for the film. ‘Purusha Pretham’ will release on SonyLIV on 24th March, 2023.
‘Purusha Pretham’ is a crime drama that comes from director Krishand R K. He had earlier made the quirky ‘Aavasavyuham: The Arbit Documentation of An Amphibian Hunt’. That movie also skipped theatres and released directly on SonyLIV. Aavasavyuham received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, and went on to win the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film and Best Screenplay. By that standard, ‘Purusha Pretham’ seems like a movie to watch out for.
‘Purusha Pretham’ is described as a “crime noir, set in the wetlands of Kochi”. The literal translation in English of the title is “Male Ghost”. The screenplay is written by Ajith Haridas, while the story of the film is credited to Manu Thodupuzha. The film stars Darshana Rajendran, Pramod Velliyanad, Maala Parvathi, Prasanth Alexander, Jagadish, Devaki Rajendran, Geethi Sangeetha, Shiny Sara, Jolly Chirayath, among others.
