After the sleeper hit success of the newly released Malayalam movie Vaazha (Eng. Plantain tree), the scriptwriter Vipin Das announced the second installment, titled ‘Vaazha 2- The Biopic of a Billion Bros’. The performing team will remain the same while the film will be directed by debutant Savin S A, with Akhil Lailasuran handling cinematography. The movie will be produced by Vipin Das, Harris Desom, P B Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Studios.
Das revealed the news using a character poster with a unique style of animation featuring significant characters from the first installment. Vaazha is a coming-of-age comedy-drama that follows the story of five school friends navigating the challenges of adulthood. It features established actors like Jagadish, Kottayam Nazeer, and Azees Nedumangad in supporting roles.
The sequel aims to introduce new talents in the technical department, including direction, cinematography, and editing. Vaazha 2 may focus on the story of Hashir, Anshid, Alan, Vinayak, and Ajin, with the boys from the first film playing a significant role. The actors, apart from the established ones, are popular social media content creators, influencers, and vloggers, contributing to its popularity among the Malayalam audience.”
