Almost 2 months ago, a thrilling promotional video for an upcoming Malayalam political drama was released on YouTube… And it was intense. The film in question was the Malayalam film, ‘Pada’ and the 90-second teaser, filled with intrigue and thrills was released on the official YouTube channel of E4 Entertainment. At the time, with theatres expected to only open by 2022 in Kerala, we were expecting the movie to release directly for streaming on an OTT platform. But, it looks like the film is heading to theatres and will release in cinema halls in 5 days.
With the release date rushing towards us, we expect a trailer for the movie to release any day now. According to the teaser, a group of revolutionaries have taken over a public office using guns and other weapons, to hold a few government officials hostage. The teaser has mainly been the buildup to the hostage situation, so hopefully, the trailer might give us a reason why these people committed this crime.
While the teaser itself looks brilliant, what makes the film even more compelling is its cast. The movie has many South Indian heavyweights including Kunchacko Boban, Prakash Raj, Joju George, Vinayakan, Dileesh Pothan, Kani Kusruti, Indrans, Shine Tom Chacko, Jagadeesh and Unnimaya Prasad. With such a varied cast and compelling teaser, we expect this film to bring a lot of people to theatres. For now, we await the trailer.
