‘MalayanKunju’ Trailer 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot, Streaming Platform

After consistent efforts from Fahadh Faasil, makers of MalayanKunju decided to ditch direct digital premiere option and the film will now hit the cinemas on 22nd July. The team of MalayanKunju have also unveiled a second trailer to the film, with more glimpses and a different take at Fahadh’s character.

The film is centred on a real landslide that took place in the high ranges of Kerala (Idukki) followed by catastrophic floods few years ago. The landslide was grave and resulted in the death of families, their homes and kin. Fahadh Faasil plays ‘Anikuttan’, an obnoxious fellow who also happens to be an electrician. Anikuttan gets trapped in the landslide and the movie shows his survival and escape.

In the latest trailer, Fahadh’s character seems to be annoyed at the cries of a new-born baby in his neighbourhood. He seems to have pestered his neighbour enough because of the same. This is followed by a catastrophic scene where Fahadh and Jaffar Idukki are caught in a landslide and then a flood as they hear the sound of the baby. Thereby helping them detect presence of life near them. The second trailer not only gives a better sneak-peek at Anikuttan’s character, but also creates a choking atmosphere with A R Rahman’s brilliant background score.

The Natural Hazard themed survival thriller stars Fahadh Faasil and Rajisha Vijayan in lead roles. Indrans, Jaffar Idukki and Deepak Parambol also appear in prominent roles. MalayanKunju is directed by Sajimon Prabhakar and produced by director Fazil. Mahesh Narayanan wears the hat of both Cinematographer and writer respectively. A R Rahman makes a come-back to Malayalam Cinema after more than a decade as he scores the background score and music of the film. The streaming rights of MalayanKunju is apparently with Amazon Prime Video but there’s no official confirmation so far on the same.
