Mammootty‘s ‘Rorschach’ was just released in theatres and while the pre-bookings were low, the movie has picked up speed with great word of mouth. The night shows had excellent occupancy. The movie is rich in technical aspects and the cast all performed splendidly. The main takeaways? Mammootty’s range as an actor and his dedication to telling new stories as a producer. Did I miss something? Oh yes. The spellbinding performance of the veterans in the film, especially Bindu Panicker as Seeta.
Everyone who’s seen the movie has overwhelmingly positive things to say about ‘Rorschach’. One common aspect they all liked was the performance of Malayalam actor Bindu Panicker. After the movie, from Youtube to Twitter, she, it seems, was the surprise package no one expected.
Here are some of the reactions to Bindu Panicker in the movie:

While she has been part of countless Malayalam movies, this is easily one of the best performances of her career, not because she lacked talent, but opportunity. And when given such a well-deserved opportunity, she shines. The Indian Express rated the film 4/5 and reviewed “Mammootty’s terrific performance finds a match in Bindu Panicker”. It is a good time for such artists and feels great to see veteran actors getting great roles that truly deserve their skill and experience.
Rorschach is produced by Mammootty’s recently incorporated Mammootty Kampany and is seemingly the first production to be released in theatres. Besides Mammootty and Bindu Panicker, Grace Anthony, Jagadeesh, Sharafudheen, and Kottayam Nazeer also give noteworthy performances. The movie is touted as something very different from Malayalam cinema. Direction, music, editing, cinematography, and screenplay- all are done masterfully by the crew. With great responses, the movie is replacing PS-1 in many centers as per reports and is all set to have a great weekend at the box office.
