The tentative release date of Mammootty’s The Priest, which was 4th February 2021, has been removed again. The movie is still expected to release in the first week of February, but due to Covid-19 related issues affecting production/ post-production, The PriestMammootty Starrer The Priest To Release In Theaters Next Month will probably take a few more days to release in theaters. But interest has been bubbling for the release of the Mollywood supernatural thriller in OTTs, but we probably will have to wait some time for it to come online; most definitely after its theatrical release.
The Priest has had multiple OTTs (both regional and international giants) vying for the streaming rights for the Mammootty starrer, but the production house’s waiting paid off. The CM of Kerala opened theaters and cinema halls earlier this month, and The Priest’s producers are going to capitalize on this “offer”. Mollywood and Mammootty fans alike will be elated for the theatrical release, but we expect some OTT users among them will be disappointed. Hopefully, we will not have to wait long for the film to drop on a streaming platform after it hits theaters.
The Priest is a supernatural film that features Manju Warrier, Nikhila Vimal, Saniya Iyappan, and Baby Monica acting alongside Mammootty. This feature film will be the first movie featuring superstars Mammootty and Manju Warrier together. Debutant Jofin T Chacko has written and directed the film. Anto Joseph, Unnikrishnan B, and V N Babu are producing the film under the banners of Anto Joseph Film Company and RD Illuminations. The chilling trailer of The Priest doesn’t reveal much about the story of the film, nor has the film director divulged anything. For now, we will have to wait for the movie to drop in theaters to have an idea about the feature.
