There have been few instances where many broadcasting TV shows got cancelled and got renewed once Netflix added them to their TV show library. NBC’s Manifest (2018- ) is one such show. This American supernatural/ Sci-Fi drama television series is created by Jeff Rake and premiered on September 2018. Spanning across three seasons and 42 episodes, the show was cancelled in 2021. However the show topped charts on Netflix to unprecedented numbers post cancellation thereby leading the streamer to renew the show for a final season despite continuous mixed critical reception.
Although the date of season 4 streaming is still not revealed, the show is currently making waves on Netflix India too. The show has been trending on Top 10 for around two weeks now. Manifest is at #3 in Top 10 Netflix India overall and #2 in Top TV shows list, just below Stranger Things Season 4 and much above Umbrella Academy season 3. This is a remarkable achievement for an American broadcasting show that aired its last season in June 2021. Manifest raked this feat amidst Indian releases like Major, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Anek, She Season 2 etc..
The plot of Manifest centers on the crew and passengers of a commercial airliner as they suddenly reappear after being presumed dead for five and a half years. The passengers begin to realise that their lives and their loved ones are not the same anymore, while they also begin to experience guiding voices and visions referred to as ‘callings.’ The show stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long and Holly Taylor. All three seasons of the show is streaming on Netflix India.
The views Manifest has garnered despite its earlier news of cancellation and the way its trending even in India much ahead of its finale season release date announcement is no mean feat. This goes on to prove the fan-following Manifest has achieved over the years. One can clearly anticipate the ruckus the final season will create on Netflix once its out any time this year. Stay tuned for more updates.
