We are now almost a week away from Amazon Prime Video’s release of The Family Man S2 on the 4th of June, 2021. The show has been one of the most awaited and highly anticipated of all the shows from Amazon Prime, without doubt. The hype for the show is unreal and with each passing day, the hype gets stronger more and more.
After much delay, the trailer of the upcoming series launched on May 19th and ever since that fans have been going gaga over it. The trailer has been trending and people have all kinds of praises for it. Not only are fans excited to see the return of Srikant Tiwari but also the Samantha Akkineni action sequences and her character has been mind blowing. But even after all these, the series started landing in controversies one after the other.
Tamil fans have been hurt and they are voicing it out. They believe the show portrays the people of Tamil Nadu and Tamilians around the world in poor light. Especially since the trailer shows how a rebel group coalition is taking place in Chennai. People have also emphasised that the show portrays the Eelam Tamil struggle in an extremely bad light and believed that it has been given a twist of them being terrorists. All of these have led to the TN government writing to Prakash Javedkar, Minister of Information & Broadcasting for a complete ban on the upcoming season.
With all these happening all around, Manoj Bajpayee in a recent interview voiced out his thoughts, when he was asked about the controversy. First of all he urged all the Tamil fans from everywhere to first watch the series and see what the story is all about. Bajpayee emphasised that after watching the show, Tamilians won’t be enraged but in fact feel proud of what has been portrayed in the story. He sincerely asked viewers to wait and just the season once, to know what they are talking about.
Manoj Bajpayee also believes that with the season being led by Raj & DK, with Samantha and Priyamani, along with other Tamil actors in it and most of the creative team being Tamilians, the season is in perfectly right hands. They are someone who are very close to the state, the people and also the Tamil culture itself, and the actor believes they are the right person who can defend and protect the interests of Tamil fans and viewers very well.
Along with all of these, he has also shared his view on how the freedom of speech, which is a core part of the nation, needs to be safeguarded. He believes that officials need to see before taking any action and work on it because he believes if that freedom of speech, creativity is taken away then the filmmakers, the actors and other creative people in various industries will be majorly affected and it will actually be a great loss.
These thoughts can be linked to the demand for a ban on the show as first of all, the man himself requested along with the creators, one needs to watch the show. The show comes first and if they believe that there has been nothing in the series that could hurt sentiments then we should for now keep their words in mind. As we have already stated in our earlier articles, it is impossible to decipher and decode an entire season with just a trailer.
So with all these and also with the assurance from the great actor himself, one really needs to step back a bit and wait for 4th of June for the season to drop, watch it and then maybe say something, if and only if it is required.
