Manoj Bajpayee is all set to star with Devashish Makhija for the upcoming thriller drama “Joram”. “Joram” marks the union of Bajpayee and Makhija after “Tandav” and the widely acclaimed 2020 drama film “Bhonsle”, for which “The Gangs of Wasseypur” star received the best actor National Award.
According to the script, the film follows the story of a deprived and widowed father who must make his way with his little daughter across the semi-section of the country to flee from the demons of his past and the forces that wants him doomed at any cost.
The movie is slated to go on floors by the end of April. It is bankrolled by Zee Studios and Makhijafilm, run by Makhija and his producing partner Anupama Bose. The set up is in Jharkhand and Mumbai.
Bajpayee elaborated the film as a “wonderful challenge” which will give him the opportunity to “push the envelope further”. “Working with like-minded producers and a director of Devashish’s vision is exciting and extremely fulfilling. Devashish and my collaborations on two occasions have done magic and I hope our joint endeavor ‘Joram’ will go very far from where we left”.
Makhija shared in a statement “Joram” is a unprecedented try to talk about one thing necessary that has effects on the sector at huge “through a thrilling, dramatic action movie”.
“My producing partner Anupama Bose and I, as ‘Makhijafilm’, look forward to our first collaboration with the courageous, visionary Zee Studios, and to my third outing with my muse and mentor – the indefatigable Manoj Bajpayee,” the director stated.
