After working together on ‘Ray’ and ‘Ankahi Kahaniya’ as a director and producing ‘Raat Akeli Hai’, celebrated filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey and Netflix are once again collaborating for a brand new project ‘Soup’. Starring well known critically acclaimed actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Konkana Sensharma in the lead, ‘Soup’ is dark-comedy crime series is produced by Macguffin Pictures.
The streaming giant has dropped a first look behind-the-scenes video from the sets of ‘Soup’ where the lead stars and the director can be seen cooking up a storm.

As per Netflix, ‘Soup’ is loosely based on a true-life incident and follows the story of Swathi Shetty (Konkona Sensharma), an incompetent cook who dreams of having a restaurant of her own someday and her suspicious husband, Prabhakar (Manoj Bajpayee) who won’t help with her aspirations and has doubts of his own. Soon fate gives her an opportunity and she starts to cook up a master plan. But things don’t go as intended, as whimsical characters and amateur villains ruin the broth.
Abhishek Chaubey, who will serve as the showrunner and director for ‘Soup’, said, “Working with Netflix for Soup has been really exciting and I’m thrilled to share our story with audiences all across the world. We’ve had a wonderful experience shooting Manoj, Konkona and the entire cast and crew of Soup, can’t wait to showcase this motley bunch of idiosyncratic characters.”
Created by Abhishek Chaubey, Unaiza Merchant, Anant Tripathi and Harshad Nalawade, ‘Soup’ stars M Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde and Lal in prominent roles. Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik are the producers for this latest Netflix show.
