Streaming biggie Netflix has just revealed the release date for its highly anticipated Indian original series ‘Killer Soup’. The Manoj Bajpayee – Konkona Sen Sharma series premieres on Netflix worldwide on 11th January, 2024. It will likely be the first Indian original title on Netflix in the new year.
Dark comedy crime series ‘Killer Soup’ comes from the acclaimed hand of filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey, director of stellar films such as Ishqiya, Udta Punjab and Sonchiriya. The series is produced by Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik for Macguffin Pictures.
The cast of ‘Killer Soup’ includes exciting names such as Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, Lal,Anbuthasan, Anula Navlekar, Kani Kusruti, among others.
The story of ‘Killer Soup’ is said to be inspired from a true-life incident. It follows housewife Swathi Shetty (Konkona Sensharma), an incompetent cook, who dreams of having a restaurant of her own someday. Her suspicious husband Prabhakar (Manoj Bajpayee) won’t help with her aspirations and has doubts of his own.
Swathi cooks up a bizarre plan to replace her husband with her lover, Umesh. But things don’t go as intended, as whimsical characters and amateur villains ruin the broth. The story of ‘Killer Soup’ is set in the town of Mainjur in the South of India. Manoj Bajpayee apparently has a dual role in the series.
Interestingly, the series was earlier titled ‘Soup’. The series premieres on Netflix on 11th January, 2024. The streamer had revealed a short teaser for ‘Killer Soup’ last year. Have a look at it –
