Manoj Bajpayee’s 2018 psychological drama film ‘Gali Gulayein‘ will finally release on OTT, much to the delight of film enthusiasts. The actor took to his social media handles last night, to announce that ‘Gali Gulayein’ will release soon on Prime Video India.

‘Gali Gulayein’ is a dark and dreary psychological drama, which features Manoj Bajpayee in a never-seen-before role. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2017 as ‘In The Shadows’. It traveled to various other film festivals in 2017, where it received critical and audience acclaim, including the MAMI Film Festival, New York Indian Film Festival, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, Atlanta Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.
Gali Gulayein released in theatres in September 2018, but as is the case with most indie, out-of-the-box films, the film failed to attract the masses.
However, for serious film buffs, ‘Gali Gulayein’ is a masterclass in acting and storytelling. It is produced and directed by Dipesh Jain, and stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, Neeraj Kabi and Shahana Goswami in pivotal roles.
Manoj Bajpayee plays the role of a paranoid loner, who lives locked away in a shabby one-room tenement in Old Delhi. His friend, played by Ranvir Shorey, who brings him food and essentials, is his sole connection with the outside world. That, and several close circuit cameras, with which he observes the outside world, as he slowly descends into self-induced paranoia. ‘Gali Gulayein’ offers a dark, tragic look at loneliness, isolation, dysfunctional childhoods and more.
