Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Joram’ hit theatres on 8th December, 2023. The hard-hitting survival thriller won accolades for its story, script and Manoj Bajpayee’s stellar performance in the film. Despite the novel premise and the positive reviews, Joram failed to draw audiences into the theatres, and ended its theatrical run on a dull note.
Now that it’s been two months since the release of the film, Joram has begun streaming on OTT, albeit on rent. Joram is now streaming on the Prime Video Rental Store. The film can be streamed at a one-time rent of ₹199.
‘Joram’ follows Jharkhand tribals Dasru (Manoj Bajpayee) and Vaano (Tannishtha Chatterjee), who have been forced to leave their native village and work as daily wage earners in Mumbai. Enter tribal politician Phulo Karma (Smita Tambe) with an axe to grind, whose manipulative moves force Dasru to go on the run with his tiny daughter, chased by cop Ratnakar (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub).
What follows is a tense survival thriller across a brutal landscape of devastated forests, blind greed, rebellion, and so-called development. Joram is a damning indictment of human greed, power play and institutional imbalance at all levels.
Joram is written and directed by Devashish Makhija and produced by Zee Studios with Makhija. Joram is now available to rent on the Prime Video India Rental Store.
