After doing an amazing job at the India Film Bazaar, Manoj Bajpayee’s ’Joram’ is all set to make its world premiere at the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), 2023.
Helmed by ‘Devashish Makhija, ‘Joram’ will premiere at the festival under the “Big Screen Competition” category. This shows how makers are trying to get the film on the right platforms and earn acclaim from around the world before unveiling it for the general audience.
In addition to this, the makers have also revealed new character posters from the film. One is that of Manoj Bajpayee in an intense poor and rugged look holding a baby in his arms that’s also tied around his waist and he can be seen trying to protect it from something while being terribly scared. The other one is that of Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub dressed as a common man.
Touted to be a thriller drama, ‘Joram’ is officially described as the story of a bereaved father who must be on the run with his little baby girl across half the country to escape the ghosts of his past and the forces that want him dead at any cost.
The film marks the reunion of director Devashish Makhija and Manoj Bajpayee who have earlier worked for projects like short film ‘Taandav’ and the highly acclaimed film ‘Bhonsle’. Bajpayee even went on to receive a National Award for the latter.
In addition to Manoj Bajpayee and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, ‘Joram’ also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Smita Tambe, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Rajshri Deshpande and Megha Mathur among others.
‘Joram’ is produced by Anupama Bose and Devashish Makhija for Makhija Film Pvt Ltd and Zee Studios. Piyush Puty handles the cinematography for the film. ‘Joram’ will release soon on the big screen.
