The film adaptation of ‘The Sims’ was announced back in March this year. LuckyChap representatives Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerly, and Josey McNamara will produce the project alongside Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee. As per the latest report from Puck Magazine, the film is now officially moving forward with Amazon MGM. The Sims is an acclaimed life simulation video game series published by Electronic Arts and developed by Maxis. The first entry from the gaming franchise came out in 2000.
Kate Herron will helm the upcoming feature adaptation of ‘The Sims’. She is best known for directing episodes of hit shows like Sex Education, Loki, and The Last of Us. Plus, she will co-write the movie’s script with Briony Redman. Herron will also helm an episode in Season 2 of The Last of Us.

In these simulation games, players can create and control virtual ‘Sims’, along with simulating their lives and fulfilling their desires, such as raising families, finding true love, achieving success in work, and more.
LuckyChap Entertainment’s prominence rose substantially in Hollywood after Barbie’s box office performance. The Margot Robbie starrer minted over $1.4 billion globally during its theatrical run. It has also co-produced Aubrey Plaza’s upcoming comedy, My Old Ass, which has been sold to Amazon MGM for $15 million. In addition, the production banner is known to produce plenty of popular titles such as ‘I, Tonya’, ‘Birds of Prey’, ‘Promising Young Woman’, ‘Boston Strangler’, and ‘Saltburn’.
