1. Panchayat: Season 3 – May 28 – Prime Video – Hindi
A comedy-drama that captures the journey of an engineering graduate Abhishek, who for lack of a better job option joins as secretary of a panchayat office in a remote village in Uttar Pradesh. Stuck between crazy villagers and a difficult village lifestyle Abhishek starts his job with the sole motivation of getting out of there as soon as possible, for which he even prepares for CAT.
2. Swatantra Veer Savarkar – May 28 – Zee5 – Hindi
A polarising figure, Swatantra Veer Savarkar is revered by many as a freedom fighter but criticized by others for his communal ideology and the fact that he wrote mercy petitions to the British authorities from prison. Savarkar was also arrested in connection with Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination but later acquitted after no evidence was found against him.
3. Illegal: Season 3 – May 29 – JioCinema – Hindi
What do you do when justice itself is out of order? A legal drama, set in the lesser-known world of a high-end law firm where justice is measured against billable hours, and the lawyers are seldom on the right side of the law.
4. Uppu Puli Karam – May 30 – Disney+ Hotstar – Tamil
A hotel owner and father of four faces a predicament with the arrival of his abandoned son. Will the family dynamics get spicier or sour?
5. Dedh Bigha Zameen – 31 May – JioCinema – Hindi
Anil sells his family’s land to secure his sister’s marriage, only to discover it’s been stolen by a powerful official. Anil fights for justice but faces threats and betrayal. He loses everything but exposes the corrupt system, leaving a mark in his fight for what’s right.
