It is definitely a dream time as two worlds collide and fight a battle together: Marvel and DC, two superhero juggernaut universes that have crossed paths more than once, but just in comics. However, that era was over, and both sets of fans haven’t seen them together for decades now.
But, the time is about to change.
Comic fans have seen a plethora of never-before-seen battles, like Darkseid Vs Galactus or Batman and Daredevil pairing up. It was definitely a victory for comics.
And as per the recent news, DC and Marvel both will revisit their past crossover journeys; they will affirmatively republish their old crossover comics.
But their partnering up in the world of comics does mean that the world of cinema will be curious. Will we be seeing the MCU and DCU crossing paths?
Previously, Gunn did twig this fantasy of the fans by tweeting. And Kevin Feige’s past comments do make it look like a reality, or at least make it more possible than probable.
“Well, look, my standard answer to things is ‘never say never.’ I never thought we’d get this far. James has not brought that up, James is deep in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will begin filming before the end of this year. Having finished the spectacular The Suicide Squad and selling that movie, he’s well underway of prep on Guardians 3.”
But again, let’s come back to reality now. DC and Marvel both are currently going on very different trajectories; one is discovering its Kang side while the other one is about to release the first series from their rebooted universe. Quite different.
So, the chance is zero, or for the sake of the future, it is almost zero as DC and MCU might not share the screen anytime soon. But, never say never, indeed.
