We have not one but two exciting updates for Marvel fans. The first one is for the ‘Black Panther’ sequel titled ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. A per a recent report (via Variety), Michaela Coel is the latest to join the cast of the much-anticipated sequel film.
The actress was in the news for bagging multiple Primetime Emmy nominations for the television series ‘I May Destroy You’. Her nominations were for different categories including ‘Outstanding Writing’, ‘Outstanding Lead Actress’, and ‘Outstanding Directing’ for the show.
Besides ‘I May Destroy You’, the actress also featured in a couple of ‘Black Mirror’ episodes and is known for the British television sitcom ‘Chewing Gum’. Coel is also the winner of two BAFTA TV awards for ‘I May Destroy You’ and ‘Chewing Gum’, respectively.
Presently, the ‘Black Panther‘ sequel is being filmed in Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios and is being helmed by Ryan Coogler. It was earlier reported that the cast members including Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o and Letitia Wright are expected to reprise their respective roles. Although official confirmation is yet to be announced regarding the same.
In yet another exciting development for the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series ‘She-Hulk’ featuring Tatiana Maslany in the titular role, ‘Arrow’ actor Josh Segarra has reportedly (via Deadline) joined the show’s star-studded cast.
‘She-Hulk’ is a legal comedy series that is based on the character of a lawyer named Jennifer Walters, who gains superpowers after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner. She eventually becomes an altered version of her male counterpart Hulk.
‘She-Hulk’ is expected to release on Disney Plus and Disney Plus Hotstar streaming platforms sometime in the year 2022. While ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is expected for an eagerly anticipated theatrical release on 8th July 2022.
