Happy Happy News! Richard Rider aka Nova would be the latest to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to credible sources at Deadline, Marvel has tapped Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada to develop a Nova project. It is not revealed so far if this development will lead to a feature film or a limited series for Disney+.
Nova who first made his appearance in an 1976 issue of Super Adventures, was a member of the intergalactic police force known as The Nova Corps. He attained superhuman abilities following his induction to the force. His capabilities include high resistance to injury, flight and enhanced strength. While the character doesn’t really interact much with the main big-wigs of current or past MCU, he did battle it out with the Skrulls. Skrulls seemingly has pivotal parts in upcoming Marvel projects like ” Captain Marvel ” and “Secret Invasion”.
As for Pirzada, who landed a high-profile Marvel project most recently by contributing much for the upcoming Moon Knight series that premieres worldwide on March 30 on Disney+, it is yet to be seen with the development of the Nova project.
The reception of Moon Knight is yet to be seen but it seems like the up and coming writer has impressed producer Kevin Feige enough with his work to land another writing gig under the studio.
