Several Marvel TV shows were in the past released on Netflix and they did not really come into the main timeline of the Marvel movies. Some of these include highly popular TV shows with characters like Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, the Punisher, and Luke Cage. However as the MCU keeps on getting bigger and bigger, Marvel has brought them home to Disney+ Hotstar and seems to have huge plans for the characters in the MCU and this has got fans more excited than ever.
Marvel is no longer continuing its storyline through multimillion-dollar movies. One of such crossovers between Marvel movies and Marvel TV shows was Wanda’s (Elizabeth Olsen) character development and plot in ‘Wandavision’ leading to ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness’ followed by the same in ‘Loki’. Marvel then teased the inclusion of the Netflix shows into the MCU with the cameo of Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ and the same approach was seen with Kingpin in the Hawkeye series. The Studio it seems is getting more ambitious and is apparently going to re-introduce all its characters from the Netflix shows into the MCU through the upcoming Originals that will be released on Disney+ Hotstar for the Indian audience.
If the rumors are to be believed, one character who will be introduced into the main timeline of the MCU is the Punisher (Jon Bernthal). Making things more interesting, it seems he is going to appear in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and his reunion with daredevil has hyped the series even more. The title of the Netflix show’s reboot is assumed to be implying the rebirth of the Netflix character in the MCU. Jessica Jones played by Krysten Ritter was expected to cameo in the series but as per rumors, her schedule meant we will have to wait a while longer for the reunion of the two Defenders.
What is exciting is the possibilities that will open up for the characters with their inclusion into the MCU via such shows. Marvel has already started to introduce important plotlines in their Marvel series on Disney+ Hotstar. Hopefully, we will get to see the Defenders and other popular characters from TV shows interact with the Avengers as well in the main timeline of the MCU.
