Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans all over the world celebrated his birthday today. The Icon who broke several stereotypes and ascended the throne of South Indian Cinema charted a legacy of his own for decades. Makers of his upcoming action-thriller film ‘Jailer’ released a video glimpse to celebrate him today and it’s everything that his fans would want from him. Helmed by Nelson, ‘Jailer’ is slated for a theatrical release on 14th March, 2023.
Written and directed by ‘Beast’ and ‘Doctor’ fame Nelson, ‘Jailer’ follows the story of a Jailer (played by Rajinikanth) of a prison who takes upon himself to stop a gang trying to rescue their leader from the prison. The makers dropped official first look of the actor superstar few months ago and the new video glimpse reveals the elevation background music of the character.

The birthday special glimpse video begins with Superstar’s super stylish silhouette. He is then shown to get ready for a mission and then pull out a dagger. The video ends with his face being zoomed in.
The video glimpse of Rajinikanth’s 169th film ‘Jailer’ is being very warmly received by his fans and well wishers all over the world. He is seen Wearing khakhi pants and is sporting a spectacled look with salt and pepper styled hair and beard.
Presented by Kalanithi Maran, ‘Jailer’ is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, whose recent works include Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Doctor’ and Vijay’s ‘Beast’. Although ‘Beast’ was a colossal disappointment, there are still hopes from Nelson who gave interesting content like Kolamavu Kokila and Doctor when Tamil Mainstream cinema was getting formulaic. Jailer is also an Anirudh musical.
Besides Rajinikanth, ‘Jailer’ stars Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan. The matinee idol’s last super blockbuster film at the box-office was Pettah in the year 2019. There’s so much riding on Jailer post misfires in Darbar (2020), and Annaatthe (2021).
