Director Ti West is almost done with the production of MaXXXine, starring Mia Goth. The upcoming slasher flick will serve as the final entry of the X trilogy, after X (2022) and Pearl (2022), both of which also had Goth as lead.
In a recent interview with WhatsUndertheBedwithDax on YouTube, Ti West has revealed that he is almost done with MaXXXine’s editing. It means the director is now left with the film’s final touches.
Distributed by A24, the third X entry is expected to hit the theatres globally this year. Given the latest update from West, it seems like it may come out in the second half of 2024.
Before MaXXXine, A24 will drop Julio Torres’ Problemista (March 1), Rose Glass’ Love Lies Bleeding (March 8), and Alex Garland’s Civil War (April 12).
The first entry of the X trilogy, X, came out in March 2022 and earned nearly $15 million against its $1 million budget. Its prequel, Pearl, arrived in theatres in September 2022 and collected over $10 million.
Helmed by Ti West, MaXXXine stars Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Summey, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Kevin Bacon, and Giancarlo Esposito. Mad Solar and Little Lamb have co-produced the third entry, with distribution being handled by A24. Stay tuned for more updates.
