A24 has dropped a brand new trailer for Ti West’s upcoming slasher, MaXXXine, starring Mia Goth as the titular protagonist. The third and final entry to West’s X movie series is all set to arrive in theatres worldwide on July 5.
The new clip opens with a faux trailer of an adult film, titled The Puritan II. Soon, we see Lily Collins as one of the performers working on the film. Serving as a direct sequel to X (2022), MaXXXine continues the protagonist’s journey of becoming a prominent actress in Hollywood. However, it all starts to fall apart after the Night Stalker (an infamous sex offender and serial killer during the 1980s in Los Angeles) starts wreaking havoc in the protagonist’s life. Things get more complicated after her sinister past starts seeping into her present life.
Apart from Mia Goth, the new trailer shows plenty of performers, such as Elizabeth Debicki (Elizabeth Bender, director of The Puritan II), Giancarlo Esposito (a popular agent for Z-list actors), and Kevin Bacon (a private investigator). Bobby Cannavale and Michelle Monaghan portray LAPD detectives. We also see Lily Collins and Halsey in the new clip.
