Marvel is currently in an exciting phase, experiencing a boom, and the fans are eagerly anticipating the future of the franchise. After the death of Thanos, it was speculated that Marvel would take it slow, but it turned out otherwise.
It took just a week to make Marvel the most talked-about universe again, and now, there are new projects regularly coming up, one of which is their Nova gig.
Brad Winderbaum, head of Television, Streaming, and Animation, confirmed Marvel Studios’ plans to potentially introduce Nova, aka Richard Rider, into the MCU through a movie or TV show. The studio is adopting a traditional approach, developing projects before deciding which ones to produce.
Brad Winderbaum shared some positive insight regarding the project, “We love Nova. We are in really early development on Nova. We have a new system behind-the-scenes at Marvel Studios. We’re more like a traditional studio now. We’re developing more than we actually will produce.”
“There are plans to develop Nova. I love Nova, too. I love Rich Rider, too. I hope it gets to the screen. The world is always chaos. There’s always things. You gotta conjure these things to make them happen, but I would love to see a Nova show, one day.”
Though the studio is working on it, will it reach some sort of final form? That’s quite unsure, as Nova, though loved by some hardcore fans, might not be finished by Marvel keeping the upcoming reception in mind.
Marvel already has a lot on their plate, so focusing on the ongoing slate would definitely be a better idea, especially if they don’t want to bombard the audience every month with new series. But as of now, Nova is actually being developed.
