Following the footsteps of her ‘Wednesday’ co-star Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers is also on the way to becoming one of the rising sensations for Netflix, special thanks to her latest show, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Serving as a solid adaptation of Holly Jackson’s novel series of the same name, the show follows Pip Fitz-Amobi (Myers) who takes matters into her own hands after local authorities fail to solve the mysterious murder case of Andie Bell, a local schoolgirl who died five years ago.
Given the show’s growing positive word of mouth and impressive critical reception, it will surely find its place on Netflix’s Top 10 list of most-watched shows across the globe in a matter of days. Many viewers may consider ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ just another good crime series after watching it, but it must mean the world to its leading actor, Emma Myers. And why not? The show not only allows Myers to come out of Jenna Ortega’s shadow in ‘Wednesday’ but also enables her to display her own acting talents.
The latest Poppy Cogan creation gives Myers a chance to spread her wings. If you look closely, her character, Pip, is pretty much the opposite of Wednesday’s Enid, which is great. Enid is the jolly, colourful, and vibrant Californian roommate of Ortega’s Wednesday at Nevermore Academy. She always supports Wednesday and deeply cares for her. On the flip side, Pip is awkward, and obsessive and does not get along with others nicely, which is completely opposite of Enid’s bubbly persona.
Through ‘Wednesday’, Myers gained global prominence. But with ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’, the actor could have her own fanbase. Her latest show has received a ‘fresh’ 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is more than Wednesday’s. This scenario not only looks promising for the young actor but also teases her bright future.
