ALTBalaji and Zee5 Club original series ‘Paurashpur‘ is as lavish and regal as it can get. The magnum opus web series is about the grand kingdom of Paurashpur and its royal members. ‘Paurashpur’ is set to premiere on ALTBalaji and Zee5 on 29th December 2020.
‘Paurashpur’ is an erotic period drama that revolves around a kingdom of politics, conspiracies and gender wars. The teaser of ‘Paurashpur’ begins with a powerful dialogue by King Bhadrapratap (Annu Kapoor) in the background while he can be seen pouring hot melting wax on a woman’s bare body sadistically. It gets followed by a number of steamy hot scenes and we get to know how woman are objectified in the kingdom of Paurashpur.
Boris (Milind Soman), a person from the third gender, questions the King about when will the discrimination between genders be over. We also find out that queens have mysteriously gone missing. To top it off there is a lesbian angle too in the series. The teaser also hints of an uprising, that will be led by none other than the Queen Meerawati (Shilpa Shinde) herself and will change the scene of Paurashpur forever.

Shilpa Shinde is a established name in the TV industry and this time she will be seen in the role of Queen Meerawati in ‘Paurashpur’. She is as smart as she is beautiful and will go to any length for the freedom that she has long desired.
Annu Kapoor –
Annu Kapoor is a versatile veteran actor who has been seen in both multiple films and shows. He plays the role of King Bhadrapratap Singh who is the ruthless ruler of Paurashpur. He does not like it when his authority is questioned and is a brutal gender biased man.
Shaheer Sheikh –
Shaheer Sheikh plays Veer Singh, who is a vyapari (trader) who has come to Paurashpur. He is a strong, confident man with a troubled past. He might be the one who brings the much needed change that the kingdom of Paurashpur needs.
Sahil Salathia –
Sahil Salathia plays the role of ‘nrityaguru’ (dance teacher). With his loyalty and talent he not only earned a special place in the kingdom and but also came close to the King.
Milind Soman –
Milind Soman, a charming model-actor, will be seen in a very new avatar in ‘Paurashpur’. He plays the role of Boris, a person of the third gender living in a kingdom that is utterly biased in favour of men. Boris is sharp minded and quick-witted along with being handsome like none other.
Poulomi Das –
Poulomi is Kaala, a daasi (servant) who has the potential of becoming a queen. “She is an exquisite woman with a warrior’s heart.” Her love life though is full of twists and turns.
Anantvijay Joshi –
Anantvijay will be seen as Prince Aaditya in ‘Paurashpur’. He is the elder Prince and the future king. He is a passionate man who does not say much and has many underlying secrets. His wife is Princess Kusumlata and he is caught in the dilemma of choosing between what his heart wants and the throne. What will be his ultimate decision?
