Often referred to as ‘The Queen of Power Ballads’, it is common knowledge that Canadian singer Celine Dion has had an incredible, genre-spanning, and award-grabbing career so far.
And now, a documentary circled around her music and journey with Stiff-Person Syndrome – a life-altering condition, directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Irene Taylor is all set to release soon. The Amazon Studios project ‘I Am: Celine Dion’ will officially begin streaming exclusively on Prime Video on June 25, in more than 240 countries!
Filmed over the course of over a year, the documentary offers a dive into a crucial time in the pop icon’s life and career as she reveals details about her battle with SPS, after being diagnosed back in December 2022.
While Dion has been unable to perform since her diagnosis, she goes into detail about the lengths she has gone to continue performing for her beloved and loyal fanbase.
Filmmaker Taylor’s previous credits include ‘Trees, And Other Entanglements’, which was released last year by HBO. The surreal film explores human obsession with the arboreal world. She also recently won a Columbia-DuPont Award for her investigative project under Hulu ‘Leave No Trace: A Hidden History Of The Boy Scouts’.
While fans were left disappointed when the megastar had to cancel her ‘2023 Courage World Tour’, we are sure this insight into her life will be some form of consolation!
