It looks like veteran Hollywood actor-director Mel Gibson is slowly and steadily coming back into the groove. The Academy award winner was earlier cast in the highly anticipated ‘John Wick’ spin-off prequel series ‘The Continental’. And now, the controversial star is all set to go behind the camera and don the director’s hat once again for a movie titled ‘Flight Risk’ starring ‘Uncharted’ actor Mark Wahlberg in the lead role.
The basic plot of ‘Flight Risk’ revolves around a pilot (Mark Wahlberg), who is assigned the tough task of transporting a dangerous criminal for his trial. The movie is being touted as a character-driven, suspense-filled, and a must-see event of the year.
Interestingly, the last film which Mel Gibson directed was the award-winning 2016 World War-II drama ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, which rather resurrected his sinking career ridden with controversies. Prior to that, Mel Gibson had also directed the Oscar-winning historical epic film ‘Braveheart’ in which he also played the lead role. His next directorial projects were the controversial film ‘Passion of the Christ’ and the terrific action-adventure movie ‘Apocalypto’.
This is not the first time Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg are collaborating for a movie. Last year, they shared screen space for the biographical drama ‘Father Stu’. Mark Wahlberg, who is well-known for starring in films like ‘The Italian Job’, ‘The Fighter’, ‘Pain & Gain’, ‘Ted’, and ‘Spencer Confidential’, will next be seen in the adventure movie ‘Arthur the King’ and an action thriller film co-starring Halle Berry. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on Mel Gibson’s directorial feature film ‘Flight Risk’ starring Mark Wahlberg.
