Mia Goth (MaXXXine) and Corey Hawkins (The Piano Lesson) are the latest actors to join Christopher Nolan’s newest project, The Odyssey. They will appear alongside prominent talents such as Tom Holland, Zendaya, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, and Jon Bernthal.
Nolan’s next project takes inspiration from Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey, written over two millennia ago. It recounts the long and adventurous journey of the Greek hero Odysseus as he makes his way home after the Trojan War. It remains a beloved and enduring classic to this day.
Apart from Odysseus, the story will also focus on his wife and grown son. The family must contend with aggressive suitors who have their evil eyes on the throne.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Goth’s character may not speak in the movie at all. Universal has not yet confirmed this scenario.
One possibility is that Goth may end up playing a goddess in the movie. However, there are rumours about Goth portraying a siren, a human-like creature with a mesmerising voice that enchants sailors to their doom.
As for Corey Hawkins, details about his character are under wraps right now. Other actors who are a part of the movie are Bill Irwin, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, and Samantha Morton.
Helmed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey will hit theatres on July 17, 2026. Nolan will also write and co-produce the project with his wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy banner for Universal. Stay tuned for more updates.
