One More Hollywood remake of a Korean crime thriller. Popular filmmaker Michael Mann now plans to adapt the acclaimed movie ‘Veteran’ in Hollywood.
Michael Mann is working with CJ ENM, a Korean film and TV company, to remake the movie in English. Michael Mann is known for many blockbuster successes. He has made a name as a filmmaker by directing films like ‘ Collateral’ and ‘Manhunter’. His ‘Heat’ with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro is considered a masterpiece. He has recently released ‘Ferrari’, a much loved biopic of Enzo Ferrari.
‘Veteran’, on the other hand, is a 2015 film directed by Ryoo Seung-wan. It is one of the classic, violent crime thrillers from South Korea. South Korean crime thrillers have gained a wide audience all over the world, and they deserve it pretty well. Starring actors like Hwang Jung-min, Yoo Ah-in, Yoo Hae-jin, Oh Dal-su, Veteran is loaded with action.
Veteran tells the story of an honest police officer who wants to avenge a common man and give justice to him. On the other hand, the offender is an heir of a huge conglomerate and has decided to destroy the officer.
Michael Mann is a trusted filmmaker and obviously, whatever comes from his hands will be something good. It is not decided if he will direct the project or be associated only as a writer and producer. Mann is also planning to direct a sequel for ‘Heat’. That is a good news too.
