Netflix and Intrepid Pictures’ new limited series ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ created by Mike Flanagan and based on Edgar Allan Poe’s 1839 short story of the same name is now all set to debut on the global streaming giant.
‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ is a horror drama that follows Roderick Usher (Bruce Greenwood), the CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company, who must face his shady past when each of his children begin to die in mysterious and brutal ways.
Netflix has also unveiled a first look photo of Carla Gugino from the series. She plays the role of a demonic shape-shifter named Verna who is claimed to be the executor of fate or the executor of karma.
Other than Greenwood and Gugino, ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ also stars Mary McDonnell, Willa Fitzgerald, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Henry Thomas, Crystal Balint, Kyliegh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Matt Biedel, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Daniel Jun, T’Nia Miller, Paola Núñez, Sauriyan Sapkota, and Ruth Codd.
‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ marks the fifth series for Flanagan and Trevor Macy at Netflix under their Intrepid Pictures overall deal, including: the fan-beloved The Haunting of series – ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’; the critically-lauded ‘Midnight Mass’, and ‘The Midnight Club’.
An eight episode limited series ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ is directed by Mike Flanagan and Michael Fimognari, where each directs four episodes. The executive producers for the series include Trevor Macy and Flanagan of Intrepid Pictures; Emmy Grinwis and Michael Fimognari. ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ will launch globally only on Netflix on 12th October, 2023.
